Our inner child, Oats extract , and provision

by

Childlike wonder and curiosity is a gift , something I believe is possible to cultivate and tend to. Sometimes a way to tend to our child is to lean into god and allow the remembrance of being loved by the father/mother…creating a gentle environment for us to release judgement, criticism, and blame . Creating the space for acceptance of all of us. It may feel difficult to do this based on trauma, and this wound of separation from the creator so many of us live with. The beautiful thing, is that we are provided for in all ways and given the gift of medicine. There is inherent medicine in knowing we are loved, and medicine and love can come through in a variety of forms. One being of the trees and shrubs of the earth worked with in the art of gemmotherapy . They can both nourish and tonify our inner tree ( the central and autonomic nervous system ).

Oats is a wonderful example of an extract we work with in a microdose , which acts as a harmonizer for both our central and autonomic systems. Its essence is to establish roots, so that in times of more extreme stress of any kind we are able to stay grounded and flow the the changes life offers us with greater ease and trust. She/he is like the benevolent and patient father whom creates the structure for us to exist within and feel it all without overwhelm. Or, shows up as the nurturing and yielding mother reminding us that we may need a meal, because we had forgotten to eat all day. The balance of grounding/fluidity is part of the medicine of oats …allowing space with a sense of safety for the child inside to be felt, and expressed. As a result then , our child can be seen and heard . Deep resolution can come from this within our bodies.

I have found lately that my own inner child wants the space to play . Playing in the form of coloring has been really fulfilling and soothing for me … the colors, tones and remembrance of my own childhood love for coloring . When my kids were little , we had the Victorian flower fairy seasonal books by artist Cicely Mary Barker. I recently found an activity book with her artwork , and so it ties together my children, my childhood , love, play, regulation , and along with oats extract has been very helpful during a more stressful time in life.
